Probate

The probate process is a legal proceeding that transfers a deceased person’s property to their heirs or other beneficiaries. Depending on how the deceased person’s assets are titled, probate is often required. A person who is serving as personal representative of an estate has certain legal duties that must be performed without conflict of interest. 

Some of these duties include collecting all assets of the estate, paying all obligations of the estate and distributing the remaining assets to beneficiaries. The role of personal representative can involve personal financial risk, and is best undertaken with the assistance of an attorney. We represent personal representatives in probate matters in Mobile and Baldwin counties.
